Welcome to the U.K. Canals Network

The 'UKCanals Network' site started out in 2000 and was born from my fascination with canals, waterways and narrowboats, the aim of the site then, and now is to bring visitors complete listings of all canal and river side services in the United Kingdom, also information for newcomers to the canals, boaters and other waterway users, history of the canals, plus links, tips and beginners guides on everything canals.

If you have an interest in the canals and waterways of the United Kingdom, or need some information then hopefully you will find what you are looking for here.
We now have an Updates page which shows the latest additions and alterations to the site.

A completely new section on the web site is 'Private Boat Sales' where you can advertise your narrowboat or cruiser for sale completely free of charge with a full description and up to eight photos.
Each advert will have it's own web address i.e. ukcanals.net/sales/xxx-yourboatname which can be used in any other smaller advert you may have running to help with the sale of your narrow boat or cruiser.

If you find any information in these pages which you think is wrong, out of date or mis-leading then please let me know, reports of broken links are welcome so that the information can be kept as up to date as possible.

The design of the site has changed several times over the years, but the latest change means that a lot more information can be made available, and new information can be added more quickly and easier. To help you find what you are looking for there is a now a  search engine, the search engine will find anything on the site.

Anyone with a site relating to the canals and waterways of the U.K can join the UKCanals Webring. It is open to private and commercial sites and is a way of increasing visitors to your site. There are now over 150 sites in the ring.
