Father’s Day 2011 and everybody at the Coach and Horses were enjoying a busy day. The sun was shining and boats were floating along the Brecon and Monmouth canal. As a full restaurant was sitting down to enjoy Sunday lunch who should walk in but Santa Claus himself! He was enjoying a summer holiday on a narrow boat on the Brecon and Monmouth canal, as far away from the busy factories of the North Pole as he wanted to get! After stopping off at a number of pubs along the way, he returned to The Coach and Horses in Llangynidr to present Tracey Birch a 5* Santa Award for best pub in Britain. Only one other establishment in the UK has this award, a 3* Santa Award in Dorset. Santa also presented Tracey with an official Santa’s hat and reindeer bell to award her for her hospitality. After spending time with every table in the restaurant, and having photographs with all of the Dad’s who were brave enough to sit on his lap! Santa said good bye to all and went back to his boat to enjoy his last day on holiday before returning to Lapland and all of his elves!
See you at Christmas Santa!
